WELCOME

 I teach violin, piano and theory to students of all ages and abilities.  I take violin and theory students up to Grade 8 and piano students up to Grade 5.

Lessons are 30 minutes in length for beginners up to Grade 4 or 5 and will usually include 10 minutes of theory.  Thereafter lesson lengths will increase to 45 minutes and then an hour for the higher grades.  For those wishing to take practical exams there is a requirement for Grade 5 theory before practical exams of Grade 6 and above can be taken with the Associated Boards of the Royal Schools of Music.

As you reach the higher grades then lessons need to be longer to cover all the material and so an hour is necessary.

Term dates for the academic year 2011/12 are as follows:

Autumn Term:
Monday 5th September 2011 to Saturday 22nd October 2011
Half Term: 24th to 28th October
Monday 31st October 2011 to Saturday 17th December 2011

Spring Term:
Monday 2nd January 2012 to Saturday 11th February 2012
Half Term: 13th to 17th February
Monday 20th February 2012 to Saturday 31st March 2012

Summer Term:
Monday 16th April 2012 to Saturday 2nd June 2012
Half term: 4th June to 8th June
Monday 11th June 2012 to Saturday 21st July 2012
